S3 Back Panel Removal
Discussion
Does anybody know how to remove the pack panel of an Elise S3 ?
One of the reversing lights is dark, checking the wiring, we found, that obviously the LED lamp is dead.
To replace the light, it is necessary to remove the outer lamps and then the back panel.
Any suggestion, whether heatening the area around the outer lamps (it seems to be glewed there) is sufficient or is there any advise for the removal?
Thank you!

On the S3, the outer light housings are bonded with PU adhesive. Gentle heat (hair dryer, not heat gun) and a plastic trim tool to carefully break the seal. Once lights are off, the back panel is held by screws and clips. Go slow. Refitting needs fresh adhesive.
Thank you!We found totally 6 screws, 2 on each oder lamp and 2 rather in the center, easily to find from the trunk.
Can you give us an advise, where the clips are and how many in total?

I am not sure what the Austrian rear light arrangements are but in the UK the S3 only has one reversing light (on the nearside). The offside light that matches the nearside reversing light is in fact a rear foglight. Just a thought. I have lost count of the people over the years who have watched me reverse over the years and come up to tell me I have a reversing light out ..........One of the reversing lights is dark, checking the wiring, we found, that obviously the LED lamp is dead.
