Hi All

My malfunction Indicator lamp is on.

I have managed to get a code reader and got the following codes

P1402
P1460
P1470
P1336

Does anybody know what they are?

Thanks

You got a K series or Toyota ECU there ? From the S2 K series service manual EMO.15

P1402 - does not exist
P1460 - air conditioning control relay open circuit
P1470 - does not exist
P1336 - misfire learns not complete, memory blank (new ECU)

I have a mark II with a K series engine.

Car seems to be running fine but light still on.

Anybody else got any ideas? or is it a trip to the dealership?

Might be worth disconnecting the battery and seeing if the MIL comes back on after a drive before doing anything to drastic. Expect to run ropey for a while however as the ECU relearns the car. Mine was just a persistent misfire cured by drying the plugs, replacing the leads and sealing the screw holes in the cover.

Warning: I know sweet FA about cars!

Thanks for the idea but I have tried that.

I have reset the ecu using a code reader and have disconnected battery plus some other ticks suggested.

I was hoping to get some suggestions on the specific codes I have.

Dont want to take it to a dealer unless I have to as Im sure they will replace everything and charge me a small fortune!!

Any local garage with a laptop should be able to plug into the footwell port and clear the ECU's error log - this will switch the MIL off. If their software doesn't list Lotus, get them to put it through as a Rover, it will still be able to read/clear the error log correctly.

This should be fine if the MIL only came on because of a one-off incident but if the problem re-occurs and the MIL comes on again you should probably investigate further.

The Mil light will reset itself after it has not recd a repeat message from the sensor after a while, If you are sure that all is ok and mil light is on permanently not flashing then just continue to drive using all the rev range and it should clear itself, mine did this when I first got the car and it took about 5 days to clear

Wont my local garage do the same as I have with a code reader?

I am continuing to drive the car to see if the light goes out but so far it has stayed on!!

Ah, sorry - I presumed you'd only been able to read what the codes were. If you've already tried erasing the error log yourself then I'm afraid I can't offer any advice.
