Caterham CSR 260

Caterham CSR 260 - barring a couple of minor issues due to faulty Caterham parts the CSR is now available for members to book. This car is unlike any other Caterham you have driven, I caught and passed an Enzo being driven properly at Donington on it's first outing (it was run in on a dyno). So far Calum Lockie, Don Palmer and a number of other very good drivers have raved about it's handling and speed. Be under no illusions that this is a very fast car and should be treated as such. It is not a traditional slide it around Caterham.

Current Points requirements from October 1st for the CSR are as follows;

Weekdays: 5700
Friday: 6100
Weekend: 6600

It is currently restricted to noisy days whilst we develop a new exhaust solution, even though it is completely standard as sold by the factory it will be too loud for venues like Bedford or Donington on a 98dB day, it will be available for members session hire at some Gold Track events in November. The car runs an FIA roll bar instead of a full cage and is significantly more spacious than a normal Caterham.

Future Votes

Some of you have requested that the 968CS be held on the list for future votes, we will do this. There is a possibility that it will replace the Turner LMP-S which is currently with our engineers as we do not believe it meets the standard of safety required by track-club.

Bank Details

Please note that our bank details and trading name have changed;

track-club UK Ltd
NatWest

Location

For 2006 we intend to add a new location for members to collect cars from, this will be from Racing Developments Ltd in Milton Keynes very close to J14 of the M1, this will make it more convenient for members coming from the south or those who are undertaking events at Silverstone, Bedford, Brands Hatch or other southern circuits. We will still have our paddock base at Husbands Bosworth although we may move to a smaller facility which will remain easily accessible from J20 of the M1, this is likely to happen over the Christmas \ New Year closedown period (unless anyone has found a track day on the 29th December!!.

Racing Developments

We have arranged for Racing Developments to be retained by Gold Track and RMA as track side support, Racing Developments currently look after a number of the track-club fleet and so will familiar with most of the cars, if you have any issues or would like advice at Gold Track or RMA events the contact at Racing Developments who will be providing trackside support and running the session hire is Mark Webber (no, not that one although he is also ex Jaguar F1).

Racing Developments..........of a different sort

If any members would like to try their hand at racing as from next year we will be able to arrange for you to race the Caterham Roadsport B in a relevant championship, you will be able to use points to hire the car for the day the only difference will be the insurance and of course there will be race fees and support applicable. You will need a National B licence which we can help you achieve.

Car Delivery

A number of members have asked about delivery of vehicles, delivery of cars to Gold Track and RMA events can be arranged - a full delivery and collection service with the car unloaded prior to the start of the day and loaded again and taken away at the end of the day is available for £150 for UK venues only. Alternatively you can consider upgrades to the Arrive & Drive levels of membership.

Points Carry Over \ Transfer

A number of you have indicated that you may not be able to use all of your points prior to your membership expiry date and have requested clarification of the ability to carry points over - as long as you renew your membership at a minimum of Sepang Level your points simply get added to next years total, i.e. if you have 5000 point remaining and you renew your Sepang membership you will start the next membership year with 25,000 points. You must however remain a member for your points to be valid, if your membership expires after the 12 month period and you do not renew you will no longer be able to use your points. Applications to hold points during a 'pause' in your membership will be considered on a case by case basis although this will incur a fee. There are a few members that have a lot of points left so it's probably time to get cracking on the winter track events!!

Some of you have asked if you can transfer i.e. sell points to another member.......if I have it in writing from both of you that you have agreed to transfer points then this is fine, I'd rather not see points bundle advertised on eBay however!!

Nurburgring \ Spa

Some of you have asked about a trip to the 'ring. Next year RMA will be running more proper track dates (i.e. not public days) at the Nurburgring, subject to sufficient interest I am happy to arrange for cars to be taken there, there will be a covering charge for the track fee and transport and then cars will be available to hire for a set number of points per lap. The insurance excesses are likely to increase for this trip. Likewise we intend to go to more days at Spa next year, only one member came this year which was disappointing but hopefully more of you will make the trip in 2006.

New Members Incentive

So far only two members have received the 1,000 bonus points available for introducing a new member so I thought I'd up the stakes. Anyone who introduces a new member prior to the end of 2005 will receive 15% discount on their membership renewal in 2006.
