Just got a car (well 3 months ago) cant work the sat nav, I cant enter an address the button/screen it dont work, I can go the previous owners house, it lets me hit the home button but not add an adress, the last AVIC I had was 6 years ago and cant rember if ther was any lock out function any help please

You have to connect the earth to the handbrake switch wire. or just connect to the chassis. If the earth wire isn't earthed it thinks you are driving so won't let you type for safety reasons
