Need a new satnav - I'm lost...

My trusty TomTom GO 720 has died.

The new range seems unbelievalbly complex. Is there a simple list anywhere listing all the different models and specifications? Something that should be so simple feels like trying to determine the cheapest energy supplier...

My requirements are for as close as possible a direct replacement:

4.3" or larger widescreen
UK/West europe mapping minimum
4GB memory to allow map updates (heard the 2GB models have an issue with this?)
I don't care about bluetooth/live mapping/traffic/whatever else - I never used any of it on my old system.

So far the Tomtom VIA 120 looks the best bet at £130 in PC world.

I have used my girlfriends Garmin the past and found it very unintuitive, clunky to use, and I felt the perspective/zoom of the map while driving was much worse when compared to my tomtom.

Anyone have any advice?

I've been using a Garmin Zumo for years - I've also paid for the update subscription which is about the only clunky thing I've found about it. In terms of routing it generally picks the route I would have chosen after poring over the map for ages, unlike the two previous satnav units I tried and hated. User interface seems good to me, but I've never tried a TomTom so can't compare it.

My android smartphone has google maps for routing which really is appalling at picking a sensible route - so bad that I still pick up the Garmin if I want more than the last half mile explaining to me, or work out most of the route from paper maps.

Even the Start20 EU would meet your spec, I think. Start25 if you want a 5" screen.

Do you have access to Costco? They did have (a few weeks ago) the Via Live 120 EU for £144, and the Start 25 EU for £150 (both inc VAT). Big advantage of getting it from Costco is it's effectively guaranteed for ever.

I looked at Garmin but was put off as there's no apparent logic in the range - it was impossible to figure out which were new models and which were old, and functionally similar models varied massively in price.
