Sat Nav Itinery planning

Hi all,
I am really confused at the moment by the amount of sat nav's available and conflicting information about which one's will support downloads from these people http://www.tyretotravel.com/.
All I want is a device that I can plan routes using the above software but I cannot seem to find any definitive answer any where.
Can anyone help?

I have an old Tomtom One XL and an even older Go 500, both of which support Iteninerary planning. Part of the problem is that more recent Tomtom offers have that planning removed for some bizarre reason.

Of course, I can't recommedn buying an old Tomtom, because I have no idea where you would get one, but I reckon they are the best bits of kit to work with Tyre.

That's basically what I seem to have read else where. Tom Tom seem to be removing from current sat navs but not telling anyone.

Tomtom have abandoned the Itinerary function to Garmin; but I like Tomtom's particularly for their Live services including HD Traffic.

The Tomtom Go 550/750/950 are still excellent devices which have the Itinerary feature; they are selling refurbed 750's online in the Tomtom outlet section.

BDA - i'd suggest a call to TTom support/technical, it'll be far quicker to establish which current models still have FULL itinerary planning ( full meaning accepting up to 48 waypoints , whereas many of the newer models accept abot 3). I believe that there are still 2-3 models which have that functionality. Th elaternative is to look for refurbished units, a few of our guys bought a model recently - i think ( think ) it was the xxl version1, those came in pretty cheap, or to just settle for an older model.
The argument against older ones seems to be ither looks or the older maps - so to a degree depends on what you wnat the TT for - i've used an older 910 for the past 2 years to guide me around teh countryside without any issues ( perhaps if i were using it in Towns that would be a different story - although you could always elect to pay to update maps, i personally think thats a waste in my case).

TYRE is a brilliant little program, its the tool that we use for all our weekend blats and longer runs - here and abroad. The key obviously is to force whichever sat nav you use to follow the route that you have drawn on the pc - don't assume that it will be exactly teh same, you need to think about which settings you have : fastest/shortest, motorway/non etc and then make sure to stick waypoints close to any junctions ( zooming in to make sure that they arent in a tiny side road!)....taht way you won't get taken on a short cut through a singel track lane or round teh houses in town....

and if you like the idea of uptodate cameras being on a new TT - you can awalys visit pocketgpsworld, they have a subsriber d/base which is consumer driven which notes camera points and often where mobile units may be - think they charge about £20, easy to download to any sat nav. And if you use teh forums theres normally someone very clever around to answer questions about 'how to'......

I would also be interested in finding a solution to be able to carry out planning on a pc and then move or sync. Onto the device.
Also want my iphone and Ipad to have the same information on rather than having to add to each device separately.
To be able to save this information would be so important when you change your devices and everything is not starting from scratch.
Any help or solutions for any of this would be most welcome. Thanks
