Car Stereo with inbuilt battery

Hi, Sorry this is a stereo qu and not a sat nav qu but I could find anywhere else to post this question.
I have an old jaaaaag, but it spends a lot of time in the garage. Over winter or for a few weeks it is locked up I tend to disconnect the battery or remove it to charge indoors.
When I bought the car (XJS-conv) it had the stereo wired so it was completely disconnected when the car was turned off.
This means the station preset channels are rest everytime I stop the engine.
Does anyone know of any car stereos which contain their own small internal battery so they can be disconnected and not loose all presets. I would imagine this should be really simple to engineer, after all my home PC can remember the time for 5 years with1 small battery.
I am after a simple mid priced stereo maybe mechless, but mainly only after a radio channels. Even a 1960's stereo with a dial which stays in place would be better for my car.

Car stereos usually have a switched 12v input and a non-switched one, just for this purpose. The 12v feed keeps the memory alive and the switched one ensures it switches the stereo off when you take the key out.
Perhaps yours is wired in wrong?
Not sure if your Jaguar is young enough to have that wiring but my 1986 Rover SD1 did.

It's got the wiring, but it has deliberately been wired to fully disconnect when the ignition is off.
If the car is laid up for 4 Months even that small drain is going to kill the battery and cause sulphur deposits which mean a permanently dead battery.
Even the smallest of ROM or SD card could be enough to store the presets on. Not sure why manufacturers have not done this?
