Hi

O/H has just purchased one of these, our first one. Really just wanted to ask here what people think of them/any useful user advice.

As I said it's our first Sat Nav system.

Cheers

Suggest that you take it back and swap it for one of the TomToms that get Lifetime Map Updates.

Our lass has had two of the UK/ROI version: both of them keep freezing.

I've just bought the W 25 with free lifetime maps, however now found it was a pointless purchase as the new units don't do ITN files which I used to use to plot the routes for my ventures abroad etc...
I don't think the 4 advanced points really compare to the 48 that it used to allow...

Oh! and the high stret motoring shop refused to exchange for an older and more expensive model to suit my needs.. gutted

It's not often you'll be driving on a road that TT will say is a field. When you see this, and if you can't work out you're on a new road then TBH you really shouldn't be on the road anyway as you shouldn't be allowed outbiggrin

Just abandoned mine after 4 months.
Crap.
Really sluggish and hopelessly slow to get a GPS lock and then loses
lock all the time.

Just got the TomTom app in my iPhone and it literally blows the doors off the standalone unit (apart from screen size).
Really wish I`d saved the money and just bought the app!

Thing is, the standalone worked fine for a couple of months and then started regularly freezing and/or losing GPS lock.

Don`t want to put a downer on your new purchase and, of course, YMMV but that`s been my experience.
