Has anyone used the CamerAlert app made by "PocketGPSWorld"?

I have found that the app needs to be open and viewed at all times for it to alert me. Is it not able to alert me with the phone on standby or with the screen off?

The only way I can get it to work for more than a couple of minutes is by enabling "Prevent standby" in the options which means that the screen is on 24/7; this is not good for battery consumption! As soon as my iPhone 4 goes into standby or if I manually lock the phone the only alert I get is a small notification on the screen; there are no audible alerts, etc.

It's frustrating because other than that it seems to work brilliantly.

Any help would be appreciated.

They can't get a 3G signal.

Mind you, neither can an iPhone many times.

Try asking the question here: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=For... you will get a better response as they support this application there.

Can't you change the notifications for the app in the 'Notifications' menu option under settings? You can set it so a ringtone goes off I believe.
