Hi there,

I have seen these ones:

Binatone F430 4.3" - £59.99
Garmin Nuvi 30 3 5" - £69.99
TomTom Start 20 4.3" - £69.99
Garmin Nuvi 40 4.3" - £79.99
Garmin Nuvi 50 5" - £79.99
TomTom Start 25 5" - £79.99
TomTom XL Classic 4.3" £89.99

(Prices are from Argos because I live 1 minute away. Nevertheless, I will decide where to buy it after choosing the best one ).

I would prefer a 5 inches system (without compromising quality) but I am a bit lost...

Which one would you chose/avoid?
Thank you

Or maybe I could invest my money in a good app/software for my Android 4.0 (Xperia U) and a car-to-phone charger.

For me, it would be a Tomtom.

However, you have mentioned you have an android phone - check in the play store to see if the Tom tom app for android is compatible with your phone - i have it, and it works extremely well.

I am not sure if the signal reception of my phone is as good as TomTom's.

After reading hundreds of reviews at Argos, Amazon, Currys, Tesco and Halfords I have found that all of them aren't faultless:

- TomTom XL/XXL: very slow, blank-screen-prone, bad mounts,...
- Garmin Nuvi 40/50: worse at route planning, no alternative routes,...

Could any user tell me if it is possible to change the route meanwhile the car is moving?
I have seen that in USA you cant. What a F***ING joke!! We are not alone in the car all the time we are driving!

I Have a TomTom one and it has been good to me over the past 3 years , yeah a couple of times it has took me down dead ends but that is only because i havent updated the maps and really have never bothered with buying new maps as the sat nav generally takes me at least near to where you want to be anyway , i used it to go to london only the other week there and was staying with a friend in reading and it ook me right to the door , but to be honest i would say tomtom are good only because i havent tried any other sat navs and the missus buys stuff off ebay nearly every 2weeks and i have to pick the stuff up and that`s why i bought the sat nav
