Anyone have the new Garmin 2598?

Looking to upgrade my old Garmin Nuvi, as I'm doing big miles with work at the moment. I've been very happy with the reliability of the old one, but just need up to date maps and better traffic updates. Heard very mixed reviews of TomTom systems. The 2598 seems a good model, especially now with the lifetime updates.

Anyone use this unit?

Also for the top spec traffic updates, I understand it links to your smartphone via bluetooth. Does this mean it will use up network data allowance to access the live traffic system, as well as requiring a paid subscription?

Ive got the nuvi 3490 which has similar features but a slimmer design, its my first nav so can't compare it to anything else but been impressed with it most of the time.

The standard traffic updates just requires the unit to be plugged in to the cig lighter socket and this is what you get lifetime updates too. If you want the 3D Live traffic updates then you need the smartphone app on either android or iphone. You then need to pay extra to add the different features - £15.99 for 3D Live traffic (europe and south africa) / £3.99 for dynamic parking / £3.99 for photolive (cctv view of most cameras) / £15.99 safety cameras / £3.99 advanced weather - I suspect these apps will use your data to update themselves.

Ive only got the standard traffic as I only really use mine when in France or long journeys in the UK so can't comment on how good the extra features are. But the standard birds eye junction and roundabout view feature is useful, especially when in France, and the bluetooth handsfree works very well.
