Dash-cams for '26?

It seems as if each year there's a question about dashcams, however, with the speed of tech advances I wonder what everyone here recommends?
FWIW my old dashcam was/is a Nextbase 422 (IIRC) but that seems to have fried itself on last years R66 trip in Nevada - still works, occasionally so a new one is needed. I've got no real issues getting another one but if there's better out there it makes sense to get that...

I absolutely hate Nextbase stuff - bulky, ugly, battery problems, and reports of freezing/software glitching.
I buy a lot of dashcams for myself, friends and family. Sure you can go Blackvue, Thinkware etc, but they are too pricey for the quantity I need and tech being tech gets outdated.
My current go to is the front only Miofive S1 for everyones general cars - I've fitted about 9 in my aunts, uncles, parents and cousins cars - £60-75 on Amazon, sometimes just under £50 in a sale. Capacitor so no battery to bulge out after a year, and decent day and night video.
Bought a 70mai T800E for Mrs V's car - front, rear and interior, capacitor, £80-90 on Amazon, and is 4K and has decent video.
I think the next one I will buy will be a Vantrue S1 or N5 for the family bus, just to check out the quality/brand.

I just installed a Road Angel Halo. It works fine and looks decent, app support is great.
Connecting initially is fiddly esp as phone defaults to car and stereo but once done its easy. But assume all like that.
I do like black Vue but cant justify the cost.
My tech had another great idea. If its for recording the occasional road trip rather than security, a gopro is the solution.

I have a Nextbase 622 GW bought in December 2022. I too would not buy another one as the battery holds no charge, but this is not a problem for the camera doing what it's supposed to do; I'll only take it off its clip if the adhesive pad needs changing.
Will come back to this and other threads when I come to change ours.

I'd realistically not get another Nextbase. I have a Nextbase in mine and the pads fail for fun where in my wifes car never had an issue.
Takes forever to connect to get data off etc I'd never have another again but I'm not looking to change it in the near future as the wiring to the back was a PITA

A question about some of the above cameras, do any of them have the 'parking' option? or do they all switch off with the ignition?

Yes my Nextbase 622GW has it but I fear it won't have been working for as long as the battery hasn't been holding any charge without the ignition/engine running; ie a couple of years!the-norseman said:
We have got Nextbase GW cameras, and number plates dont seem to be visible at all on replaying the videos, just seems to be blurry as hell.
Anosysodwrites......You post suggests that watching the camera's videos is not an unusual task for you.
