Hi..

My car is being transported soon for a 500 mile trip (Scotland to the South Coast).

I was thinking about putting a battery powered tracker in the car so I could follow its journey down south with my Android phone.

It's only for this one journey, not bothered once it arrives.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Amazon sell generic Android tags for about £15 each.
It looks like Chipolo are the best, I think they are supported by Google?

I have an AirTag under the carpet in my car - primarily to find it in car parks. It's extremely accurate and seems to work everywhere.

Do the Samsung tags only work with Samsung phones or do they work with any Android device? I was under the impression that it was the former?

If you have an Apple device you can’t go wrong with an AirTag

I’ve been using accutag and ugreen cheap alternatives

Work very well

Have them on my kids scooter and push bike as they leave them behind all the time

I need one that works over 500 miles so it's gps only. Bought a £19.99 TruTrak GAT24 4G Tracker, so we'll see how it works out..

So an Airtag needs a mobile phone nearby to Bluetooth to?
Not sure if that'd work inside my car on a trailer for 400 miles..

It would link to the drivers phone, and any others in the locality

My car was repatriated from Germany a couple of years ago, and the AirTag showed the progress all the way home
