Scenario:

Arriving/departing this double roundabout as per arrows:

There are two lanes as you enter from the North:

Left lane indicated as left turn and straight on, right lane marked as right turn:

And view at the roundabout as you arrive:

Which lane is allowed? I see both people queuing in the left lane to go down Ingrave Road, and people zooming up the right and lane to also go this way...

I would say the lh lane, as it is marked straight on, and the only 'straight on' is Inverness rs, even though you have to kink right.
Obviously beware of people in the wrong lane though.

I know it smile.

As per the markings, surely? Right lane to go down the High Street, left lane for left turn or straight ahead for ingrave road.

Those are terrible road markings. Those going "straight on" are going to clash with those turning right because the roundabout doesn't really have room for two lanes going around it.

It would be better if the left lane were left turn only and the right lane straight on or turn right.

Good old Brentwood, lived there for 10 years so know the fun and games this caused for most people.

I would always go in the left hand lane up to the first roundabout to go straight over but and this is a big but if I was coming out of the Sainsburys car park from the round about before I would sometimes stay on the right hand lane (due to the traffic coming from the north blocking up the mini roundabout and making it very unlikely to be able to pull out) to go straight over (but only if it was clear to do so - I was more than happy to head right along the high st instead of cutting please up). There was a very small one way alley way off of the high st that I could get down and out onto Queens Road to where I wanted to head to.

Couldn't agree with you more!

I will continue queuing in the left hand lane and gently 'tutting' at those that nip up the right lane until then!
