Panel gaps on tailgate xc40

Changed the faulty tailgate struts on wife’s xc40, still a big gap on one side of the tailgate, other side is almost touching tight. Any tips or suggestions to fix gap? Cheers

i had this on my brand new first edition XC40 - there was a call back on them and it was eventually a dealer adjustment..

not sure if thats still applicable though
