I pulled out one of my RC cars earlier thinking to have a play.

Opened it up find that I'd left the 2 lipo battery packs connected since I last used it probably 3 months ago !!! the car was switched off but the batteries were obviously dead.

Plugged them into the charger and it just beeps at me and says 'Low Voltage'. BUM.

Are they dead or is there anything I can do save them ?

As you know they need to be stored with a min voltage per cell ..

Go to your local club and try a different charger ... if they have bulged bin them

I have heard of ways of reviving them but everyone who's tried it says that it's only temporary and they only last a couple of weeks before swelling - I think it's too risky and they ought to be disposed of properly (don't just bin them!)

if were going to admit RC mistakes......
On Tuesday I connected up an 11.1v Lipo direct to the reciever on a Yak 54, missed out the Esc.
I realised my mistake when I noticed smoke coming from the Elevator and Rudder servos.

Several swearwords later, reciever is ok but two Hitec 65-MG's are ruined. £34.00 wasted. Bugger.

What size batteries are they? Have you ever bought from hobbyking before? You will be waiting a couple of weeks for them to arrive but prices are very good, you can order from the German warehouse and get them a bit faster.

They're 11.1v 3s 25C.

Not used Hobbyking before but the price is good ! Might give them a try.

Thanks smile
