A friend has just sent me this rather interesting supplier of wooden clock kit plans: https://www.woodenclocks.co.uk/

Too many cogs to cut out for my taste, so throwing it open to anyone here who fancies a go!

My dad builds clocks, though he’s a traditional clock builder using brass. I’ve sent him the link as he will no doubt be interested in the site, even if he will not build anything from wood (other than the cases for his clocks)

Yes, my first thought was 'They'd look better in brass'. A plywood clock is always going to be a bit weird.

Now for some proper clocks that I could happily spend silly money on (if I had it), have a look at https://www.mikieleta.ch/timepieces/nuts

You can get 'ply' with different wooden faces, that way you can make the unit using two contrasting wood colours. if you are laser cutting you need to ensure its laser cuttable ply as some have a bonding layer that is not laser cuttable.
