Honestly, because they are limited run items and you missed them at point of release and are now in the hands of the collectors/scalpers.I've paid more for a 1/18 car. But I don't habitually.

I'm also old enough to remember when a 1/43 was £25 and 1/18 was £40-50 But that changed a decade and a half ago when the Chinese factories stopped paying their workers crap money and stared upping the wages a bit. Obviously the switch to resin from die cast has sped up manufacture, but the days of cheap, good quality items are long gone.

Managed to bag the grey Brabus Rocket, opted for a 1:43 Corgi RS as well.
