Im not sure if anyone can advise me, but i have old cars from the 80's that use to use 12v power. ive just bought my son a new scalextric & its 16v power. So does anyone know if the cars will run on the new 16v. cheers charlie

Should be no problem, just make sure you clean 30+ years of fluff off them before you have a go, and lightly oil the rear axle, otherwise whatever the voltage they may struggle!

12v in the 1960's was a bit of an understatement, 16v now may be a bit of an overstatement. Either way the 60's cars are very happy on modern power supplies.

Best Rob

Cheers Rob, thats good news. Should i go really mad & want to go digital, i believe i can also convert these old cars for around £15, does that sound right. Charlie

Yes you can do this, bear in mind that a certain amount of DIY will be necessary. There's loads of advice on this on Slotforum: linky to the digital forum

Have fun!
