Why not dedicate 1 thread to the GB thing rather than hijacking an entire forum with what looks like spam.

Ridiculous

I don't see it that way.

If I want to see how the GBers are getting on and then peruse the other model builds in here I can and its easy to stay "caught up"!

The build threads are about scale modelling after all.

I believe the various options were put to a mod and this was the suggested method we use.

Yup, I suggested a new sub-forum, but I don't think it was deemed necessary.

I requested that we have a sub forum but was told that we should use the method we are using now and that if it became a problem then this could be addressed in future.

I still stand by that there should have been one GB thread for Airfix, another for Tempest, etc, then it easy to keep up with the progress of a type of kit.

Sub-forums have cliche written all over them!

Did you play with your sister's dolls as a kid or something?
Now man up and stop yer moanin'! Buy yerself a Tempest and join in with the rest of the big kids!

Exactly.

I can't wait to get to the point where I can run around the room making authentic sounding Napier Sabre noises whilst my hand held minature plastic Tempest swoops and dives on unsuspecting imaginary V1s and Fw190s. Unfortunately, I'm not altogether sure what the Sabre sounds like - being more accustomed to Merlins and Griffons.

This might well not be a Napier Sabre of course.

Very good. It certainly doesn't sound like a Centaurus so it might very well be a Sabre. It has a distinctive snarly, nasal tone. Very different to a Merlin or Griffon too.

Doesn't sound like a radial and I can't hear any supercharger whine either, a la RR.

Best to turn a negative thread into a positive one.

The OP could just remove the forum in preferences if it's such an issue.

Although i haven't built a model in over 15 years i'm looking forward to seeing the pictures and different results you all get.

I think it's a good idea to keep it all seperate, especially as i expect you'll be posting pictures and if it's all on one thread it may get a bit confusing.

I may even pop into my local model shop next week.

Bacause I dont want to remove this forum from my preferences as I actually like this forum. My issue is that all the other threads just get swamped out by the multiple GB threads. I just dont see the point in posting a new thread for every new post. As pe my original post, it makes it look like the forum has been spammed, or from a newbies perspective face value looks like a forum of ads. Besides, this forum is for all kinds of scale model, not just model planes

I must admit it does look a little messy, but we're on a bit of a learning curve here as a group build hasn't been done before on this forum. Lets see how it all pans out and if changes need to be made in consultation with the mods then there may be a better way to do this in the future.

Fairy Muff. I suspect the individual threads will thin out as time goes. As this is a new project in this sub forum they will bunched up at the start.
