Hi

I'm not an afficionado of models so need to know....

I've been given a pair of mint Space 1999 Eagles, a normal transporter and a freighter on the proviso that sell them and split the proceeds. Personally I'd rather keep them (I love Eagles and have a Product Enterprise one in a glass cabinet) but doubt I could afford what I suspect they are worth.

They're still boxed however the plastic blisters have broken up with age. There's a chap on eBay who can supply complete new boxes (so I assume I can use one the new blisters with the original bases) for £14.99 each.

My question is, as I am selling these on, will the fact that they're original boxed (I'm not sure how "original" they will be with new plastic blisters on the old base) make them more valuable than not when I factor in the £30 for new boxes? ie. is it worth getting new ones or should I just ebay them "as is"?

The original box if it's in good condition can contribute as much as 50% towards the total value. A tatty original box is better than a missing one; you can get reproduction boxes but I doubt that will have any bearing on the value, just protect the contents a bit better!

50%! yikes

The original boxes (the bases) are in fairly good nick (very good considering they're 35 years old), but the celluloid bits have had it. Probably worth getting new packaging then and supplying the lot.

I flogged a Dinky Eagle Freighter (MIB in its blister pack) for about £175 on eBay. The blister was in unusually good condition which I suspect helped.
