Hopefully this doesn't break any rules. wink

I'm trying to find a particular model for a mate who is a huge Porsche fan and has a large collection of scale models.

He wants the Spark edition of the Japanese SuperGT 911 (997) Good Smile Racing car. Now, I can find the Fujimi one easily ( http://www.diecastlegends.com/motorsport-models/en... for instance), but he wants the Spark one as it is of a better quality and the paint job is slightly different (so I have been told). I've checked the sites I use in Japan for my collections, but again, they only have the Fujimi ones, no mention of Spark at all (not really shocked by this tbh).

So far, the only evidence I have been able to find of the Spark one existing is an ebay auction which is somewhat overpriced (IMO) - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-43-SPARK-PORSCHE-911-GT3...

Any one have any good places to look for rare stuff like this? Other than ebay. :P

Cheers smile

Edit - Messed up first link.

I know it's not what you are looking for, but have a look at Vic Elford's website, there is quite a selection of models that are signed by him.

Fujimi do a 1/24 scale kit:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fujimi-1-24-Porsche-911-...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fujimi-1-24-Porsche-911-...

ETA - you could get some clever person to scan the decal sheet and reduce it to 1/43 scale for you. You'd then have two models for less than the price of one!

I think the Spark version that you're looking for was produced in pretty limited numbers as a promo item for the team, so it's going to be quite hard to find anywhere. It may also mean that the one you did find on Ebay is indicative of the price you'll have to pay too unfortunately.

You could post the question on here, http://www.scale143.com/ and see if anyone knows of one available. Good luck with the search.

To add, this chap seems to have one in his collection: http://www.lemans-models.nl/2010/2010SGT09-2.htm
Although it's not for sale, it may be worth contacting him to enquire where he sourced his example from.

Few videos:

And from 1:40 onwards, the same sort of thing on a Beemer (afraid you'll have to put up with Miku's singing):

(If it helps, I believe this is called the 'Append' version of Miku Hatsune.)

Excellent, thanks, will try those other sites. I suspected that was the case with the Spark model being very limited as it seemed so hard to find even a few links that referenced it.

I had seen that lemans-models link in my search, but had not really considered asking him where he got it, which is a good idea!

I did find another collection that had 2 Porsche's but was titled under the Racing Miku banner, but they are resins and were apparently produced by Good Smile themselves, not that they are listed on their website.

As it happens I don't mind Miku's singing, I have a few of her songs laying around. The only reason he asked me in the first place is because I knew who she was, since I have a couple of her figures in my figure collection.

I only have one, and she's a pile of resin bits for the foreseeable future!
