Modelzone Sale
Discussion
Prices have got out of hand now with model cars, 1:18 scale have really shot up, i remember when a 1:18 Autoart model was £50, now more like £100 +.
Regarding the sale, got a few bargains myself, Valentino Rosso C Class DTM car for £13 and 1:18 Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari F430 Challenge car from £80 down to £30.
Die Cast has gone up so much, i have now started to collect/build the 1:24 Tamiya plastic kits, completed 2, on my 3rd and really enjoying them.

From October , Minichamps will be putting the RRP of Resin models up to £75.
Turning into a joke. Especially when people are tightening their belts more and more.
Then that'll be that then. If Minichamps think that people are going to pay that in the current climate then they might as well shut up shop.Turning into a joke. Especially when people are tightening their belts more and more.

those prices are a joke, and this is the reason I only buy at sale times now!!!
What's interesting is that despite Minichamps, AUTOart and co increasing prices over the past few years to a point that has turned many die-hard collectors away, how can Corgi continue to sell their stunning 1:50th scale models at similar prices to say 5 years ago - there has been very little change, in fact it has probably been increasing less than inflation...Yes I know they use moulds over and over again with different liveries, but so too can be said for many of the model moulds from other manufacturers...
Interesting?
