Budget 2.4 ghz are the Core RC radio's. Sold under the Schumacher umbrella in the Uk. The first ones had some binding issues but these were all replaced under warranty by Schumacher. The latter ones have new recievers and much better bind and signal.

Another option is the Spektrum DX6i mode 1. Whilst a 6 channels radio Phil greeno offers a service where he will lock the articulation so it works as a 2 channel. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPEKTRUM-DX6i-DSM-X-2-4g...
Recievers need to be the AR600 range which are also inexpensive, but this will be slightly over budget at £125 all in.
For a cheap decent one then you'd be looking at the futaba 3gr at about £200 (make sure you look at the 2.4 and not the 40mhz). There are cheaper ones but they are cheap for a reason, so it depends entirely on how much you intend to use it. It might also be worth looking at the classified section on www.oople.com/forums
