Looking forward to this:

Never been before, but apparently it's quite good. Can only go on Sunday, but hopefully might pick up a few supplies as well as getting some inspiration to finish my Jag.

Try and get there as early as possible whatver days you go. Last year there were osme parking problems for those who started arriving later in the morning. Part of the problem last year was that some of teh car park was closed off as there was major construction work going on at the centre. This should now be finished and the cvar park back to normal.

I hope it wont be a case of going into the halls, being pushed around the tables and being ejected out the other side.dr_gn said:
Yeah GP time again.
What's officially happening next year with the Sky deal? Are the BBC repeating it a night, or with an hour delay or something?
Nobody knows for sure. What's officially happening next year with the Sky deal? Are the BBC repeating it a night, or with an hour delay or something?
(There's a long running thread on the subject in the Motorsports Forum).
Last year I missed the Vettel's title winning race due to Sunday Telford and I didn't even care.
I'll care less this year and even less again next year.

The work on the carpark is almost complete, I'll be there Sun, this is my haunt, I'd park on the House Of Fraser multi and walk accross, it will take two mins. http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/telford-department-...Eric Mc said:

Watching the GP on a Sunday is purely a tradition thing these days. Of course we get the occasional great one, but most times I wonder why I wasted the time.

I heard that Sky are covering some races and the BBC the others, but it may have changed. The one oustanding race this year was when Button started at the back and overtook everybody, including Vettel, to win with about a lap to go. After that I tend to agree that once you've watched the first 3-4 laps you may as switch off. Or watch the 'highlights' version of course.
Here are some pics of my first experience of the Telford show.
I think 'bewildered' would be a good way to describe how I felt. The standard of the majority of the models is so far above what I can achieve that it's almost depressing! Anyway, I left more inspired than downcast I think.
The number of traders and specialist modelling companies is amazing. I still couldn't locate the elusive Tamiya Rothmans Porsche 956 I'm looking for though.
Despite all I've said against Airfix in the past, I had a close look at their latest and fothcoming offerings, and was impressed. I really hope the keep on the upward development curve and become a top quality manufacturer. Even some of the older models looked excellent built up, but I dread to think how much effort it took to achive those standards. Airfix also seem genuinely commited to promoting model building: I've been to several events now where youngsters can have a go, I think for free. Not convinced about the quality of the paint they give them though...
Oh yeah, and on top of all that I got to meet the great man himself: EricMc !

Good pictures dr_gn
Eric never said he'd met you too, is there a dark secret?
I haven't taken as many pictures as you and they are still in my camera as I've a weekend of shows to download 'cos I will be at the NEC tomorrow, if my legs can hold out.
There were some incredible models as you say but I was heartened by the fact that some of them are not up to the quality that we see in here any week too. I don't feel too downhearted.
Thanks for the pic of the Italeri Wessex, really makes me determined to make my Froggy one better, he hadn't even got the tail rotor direction right. My mate Bill (another one!) found a Frog Wessex in the box for me to add to my display, so I will have enough to complete my four cab display, yeehah. (Queens Flight, HAS1 or 3 not sure which yet and my SAR2 and that old thing of mine that is so last month
)
I haven't been to Telford before for a "Nationals" before, my last was at Stoneleigh in 84 or 85 but the scale was rather impressive.
A funny thing is though, the stuff I bought, mostly tools and paint came from my local shop. His prices were better than any others I saw...
