My father has an old 'pond yacht' schooner (at least I think it's a schooner... she has 3 masts and the hull looks very similar to the old America's cup boats), that he and his brother had as kids, and I believe his father before him.
It has been stripped back to bare wood for as long as I can remember, with the intention of somebody restoring at some point.
The decking is long gone, the masts in various states of disrepair with some brass fittings still attached, some missing / broken. The sails are around somewhere I believe.

I'm feeling the urge to start the ball rolling, and more than anything I need to get some pointers as to where I should be looking for more advice and anything to avoid doing!

I am tempted to get her looking like she used to (her name is White Wings, and she was a nice shiny glossy white at some point in her past), but perhaps going as far as getting some radio gear in to control various winches and her tiller. Is that sacrilege?

Anyway, any pointers or opinions would be gratefully received.
I'll try to get some pics up once I've made claim to her!
