Completed: 1/72 Revell BAe Hawk Red Arrows
Discussion
Hi,
Not bad at all for what I thought might be a "beginners" kit - turns out to be a very well
done kit after all. No pilots included though - many newer kits seem to be this way. It isn't
the sort of thing I'd normally choose - it was a birthday present. But I enjoyed making it nonetheless.

Very nice.
Pilots started disappearing from kits in the 1970s.
Thanks. What's wrong with pilots? They're an important part of the plane!Pilots started disappearing from kits in the 1970s.
I think ome of the model manufacturers discovered that 9 times out of 10, the pilot (and other crew) were discarded by the modeller.
They weren''t always the best moulded either - often with missing lower limbs (allright if it was supposed to be Douglas Bader I suppose).
In recent years, they've made4 a bit of a comeback and Revell are now producing two sets of WW2 flight and ground crew - RAF and Luftwafe.
