Out of touch with modern electric Rc heli...advice please
Discussion
Its been a while since I've played with RC stuff... It was all loud noisy engines and FM radios when I last did it... Well actuall I had a PCM radio..
I'd like to get back into this again one day, when I've got some spare cash (unlikely soon), and would appreciate advice on what decent performance heli's are these days, specifically on the electric side...
I flew RC heli''s for about ten years... I had a Hirobo shuttle, with a tuned OS engine, and back then one of thos new fangled Piezo gyro's!! With that I tried to master 3D stuff but my brain couldn't handle it... I could impress the old codgers on the flying field hovering inverted clipping the grass but struggled to piece together continuous manoeuvres... Curtiss Youngblood was the main man at the time, so you can see how long I've been out of this... oh and I also had a Futura SE and tried competing in FAI stuff, but was rubbish compared to everyone who worked in the model shops...
So what are a decent machine these days ??.?

I've heard a lot of good comments about the e-Raptor 50

Been even longer since I last flew helis - was a Kavan Jet Ranger, HB61 and 5 channel propo. All mixers were mechanical, no gyros and best of all as it was one of the very first RC helis there was no-one to teach you how to fly it....

I've still got one of these, expensive, nicely make, one crash and it's probably written off as it's obsolete!Go to http://www.helifreak.com and ask there - IMO the best resource on the web by far!
