Completed Fujimi Honda Integra Type-R 1/24
Discussion
I had this kit in the model cupboard from 2007 until 4 years later when I got it out and built it. It was the oldest kit in the cupboard. It's not an especially great kit, and typical of Fujimi quality, but it's possible to make something nice from it. I'd had enough of white cars and so yellow seemed a good Type-R choice. I also thought I'd have my first go at a carbon bonnet. I'm quite pleased with the result, and it was only 4 weeks from opening the box to completing the kit, not bad for me. The roof had been squashed a little some point before I got it, so the glass isn't a great fit around the A and C pillars, and no amount of squashing, glue, setting or whatever would make it 100% conform. It's barely noticable though unless you're looking for it. Now the oldest kits in my cupboard are only from 2009 - hurrah. Next up is a Tamiya Alfa 155 touring car I picked up at the model show in Telford.
Amazing to think that with the pound/yen exchange rate being as great as it was in 2007, this Integra kit was only £4.50.

Tamiya cars are a whole order of magnitude better than Fujimi. I've made 3 Tamiya cars now, and about 7 Fujimi. Fujimi are cheap and I have some more unbuilt but Iwon't be buying more unless it's a car that I really really want and it's not available from Tamiya or Aoshima. Aoshima are much better than Fujimi too, almost as good as Tamiya.

I haven't built a Tamiya kit yet, but Aoshima are certainly worlds ahead of Fujimi. I'd rank Revell at maybe a little better than Fujimi (thanks to having engines) but due to fitment issues I'd say they're ultimately the same. You say Aoshima are almost as good as Tamiya - I'm definitely going to make a Tamiya kit one of my next priorities, I think.

Thanks, I only want the Prelude because I've had 2 real ones and wouldn't mind a model.mej023 said:

Which Prelude? Tamiya do the 2nd gen, Fujimi do the 3rd, 4th. Sadly the only PreludeI had (5th Gen) has no kit at all. My 2nd Gen Tamiya Prelude is below.
