First rc petrol car for 25yr old

Hi guys, my mrs has recently bought me an electric rc car (£30 job) for inside, but it got me thinking of buying a decent petrol one to have some fun outdoors.

I wouldn't want to spend over £200 so what are my options for a good one? Ideally fast, and if it comes with a 350z shell all the better ;-)

I have this, although the one I have isn't the RTR (ready to run) model, I had to build it which I think is part of the fun.

It was about £200 plus the radio control which i bought off ebay. This was the first one I bought. I might buy another now, as building it was great fun and you can buy loads of different shells

Just make sure you run the engine in properly as i burned the clutch first time

I don't think you can beat Schumacher. I've had the electric cars for the last 25 years and nitro when they first started doing them - maybe 12 years.
Parts are very cheap and the website is good with quick delivery. The cars are very strong - I once did a 180 into a kerb with my 1:6 Elise (big6)

How big is your house that you can userccar indoors??

Schumacher is seconded here. Great support for both industry and end users, also parts still availbale for old models unlike most companies (Tamiya excluded).

What electric car do yuo have, it may be pretty simple to make that as quick as a nitro without the mess, noise or hassle that fuel brings.

Do you actually want petrol or do you in fact want nitro? I don't see your £200 stretching to a petrol powered model.

If you are in fact wanting nitro can I ask why?

You'll get better performance, higher reliability, more fun and far better value for money from a decent modern electric model.

petrol: usually 1/5 scale 25cc 2 stroke engine and around £600+ for a decent one (the £250 Chinese ones aren't worth the materials they are made out of)

Nitro: from 1/16 to 1/6 scale 2 stroke engine running a methanol/nitromethane/oil mix ( 55/25/20 % ratios), are a pain the bum (I used to own two) sure the noise and the coolness of having a small engine to play with is good for a time, but wears thin after a few broken pull starts and it often takes a couple of days to get the stink of the exhaust and fuel out of your clothes.

I have no regrets of selling my nitro stuff and going electric, hugely reliable, just as fast if not faster, easier to drive and handle, just more fun

Brushless & LiPo Electric car will make way more fun, faster, longer running time, cheaper, cooler running temps, more reliable, did i mention Faster too?? :-)
