Millennium Falcon Model
Discussion
I purchased this M/Falcon on Amazon as it seemed like a nice reasonably sized model to display & go with other (various) models I have in my cabinet.
The Millennium Falcon was always 'The' Star Wars ship, so a model was required.
This will be the 1st click together pre-paint model I have bought, & while the images look quite good I think some further detailing would make it look even better.
So some 'weathering' then, any recommendations on what to do/use to achieve this?

That's what I use these days - very good, but not cheap. They've cleverly packaged them so you really need to buy all the sets.I'm rebuilding an AT-AT at the moment. FWIW I'm going to use the following for weathering:
Paint in grey primer/grey topcoat.
Preshade all lines/details with black.
Overcoat with thin grey coat.
Overcoat with Klear.
MIG dark wash all over.
Tamiya mascara dusted on all over to highlight raised details.
Tamiya mascara for detial rust staining etc.
Pick out details with enamel paint (windows etc).
Matt varnish.

The Falcon model was delivered this morning, & a very nice kit is. I'm quite surprised at the quality & appearance.
It comes pre-painted with weathered effects but she could still do with a little final touches.
I ordered the weathered kit with silvered ali look, black & rust Orange.

In mine, the silver is very grainy - the silver particles look a bit glittery especially on small details.
I'm expectig to use predominantly gunmetal on the AT-AT.
I think C? It has the main dirty, rusty shades needed.
I haven't used a kit before, so we shall see how it goes.
I know there are a few Lego fans on here but really, is this Lego Falcon really worth £2200!!

Completed the Model of the (Revell) snap together Millennium Falcon, and its not a bad kit, good value. It did require some glue in places, & its not going to be perfect, some of the pieces needed additional trimming, and the front mandibles & cockpit area were not clicking into place as they should. Only noticeable if you look closely.
Took me around 3 hours over this evening & yesterday evening.
Usual excuse/apology for rubbish camera phone pics.

Thanks dr, plan is to remove the top & cockpit area to close the gaps up as they bother me. And once my 'weathering' kit arrives, dirty up the landing gear.
Ordered the X-Wing now.
Post up your At-At when finished.
I think you're right, it could do with more weathering, but don't overdo it!Ordered the X-Wing now.

This chap has adapted the Revell kit with some electronics - rather good it is too.
