I know there was a craze for these in the sale rooms a few years ago, but is there still any value in old boxed Corgis? Recently come into a good box full including a very nice Ecurie Ecosse transporter in it's box - will post pics later if people think they might be worth a quid or two?

That's a good model with wide appeal to people into both Motorsport, lorries and general corgi collectors. Condition looks great for its age (is it late 60's?). So it's goj g o be worth something.

The bad news is that eBay is likely to be the best place to sell. Put a comprehensive advert up with honest details of any marks or scratches and it will fly.

Thanks for the info, sounds promising. Does the slight marking of the box due to age damage the value at all, as I have a large box full of models in original boxes but sadly all the boxes have aged in similar ways. Am I more likely to have more success with a job lot or split them up?

Probably splitting them is the way to go - dealer will offer peanuts as a job lot I bet, but could be proved wrong...

I'm in the same boat, must have 400 odd models in various guises to get rid off as just taking up too much space - cars/planes, 1/43,1/18 all sorts of stuff - bit of a nightmare, didn't realsie I had so much!

The Ecurie Ecosse is a most sought after model, especially when accompanied with the three accompanying models.

For large or boxed collections, it is worth eschewing eBay and going to a specialist auction house such as Vectis where you will not only get good advice but also be sure of the correct people being made aware of any rare or desirable models you may have.

A mint one of these just went for two hundred on ebay, very collectable.
