Minichamps Ford Focus RS, why so expensive
Discussion
As the title says, can anyone tell me why the Focus RS from Minichamps fetches such a high price tag.
Figures below
White RS - 1632
Green RS - 1728
Blue RS - 1776
They are not that rare, i have Minichamps models myself which were produced in less numbers yet dont fetch as much as the RS Focus. If anything, the RS500 is cheaper than the normal RS model.

In the last 2 or 3 years, Minichamps models along with AutoArt have risen a lot. I've always been quite happy with Minichamps quality and accuracy and I think they are just as good now. AutoArt seem to have increased the quality of their models so maybe that is reflected in their prices. Inflation plays a part in the increased prices, but not that much!

How much are you paying for your models and where are you getting them from?
So far i have bought.....Audi V8 DTM, 1992, 5.72 , ebay.
Audi A4 DTM 2004 20, ebay
Audi RS6 Avant 2003, 30, ebay
Audi RS4 Avant 2001, 0, ebay, seller gave it to me as i had purchased the above and some brochures/books from him, was a nice surprise.
Audi RS4 Avant 2001 Yellow, 35, ebay
BMW M3 GTR "street", Yellow, 9.50, ebay, spares/repairs, broken left mirror, apart from that the model is faultess. This model fetches 30 so at 9.50 with a small fault not a bad deal.
Only been collecting around 5 weeks and all the models have the Minichamps outer sleeve and the plastic cases have no cracks.

It's a common pattern with certain MC models. Depends on how popular it is.Figures below

I had the original standard release in White. I paid 25 for it. Sold it 5 months later for 118. Just the way it goes with certain models. The green has gone the same way. Forget the dealer editions and Top Gear specials.
Try finding a Ford RS200 in White for a good price. And the Audi sport Quattro in red. They usually command 3 figure numbers.

Its not so much the quantity of models produced its how many buyers want them pro-rata to the production run.Figures below
