Just bought this, anybody else got one?

It's out of stock apparently - where did you get yours from from - a model shop or direct from Tamiya?
It looks good so wouldnt mind investing in one myself. Is it as good as it looks in the photo's?
I was lucky enough to bring a GTO back from the factory in 1985, for someone else who didn't want to make the trip!, this will be the nearest that I will get to having a GTO in the garage!!!!

Found one from an ebay seller in the US (new, unopened), about $580 including shipping. Due to arrive in about a week so I'll let you know what it's like.
Now you are being greedy! Two GTO's in the garage & soon to have another one in the living room! How is the 288 going? I assume you have the car at home now. Touch jealous tbh however I have at least savoured life behind the wheel of a 288.
All I can say is that, apart from the F40, it is the best car have ever driven.

I have recollections of bringing the 288 home way back in 1985.
Customs @ Dover had never heard of a 288 GTO & even though we had all of the correct paperwork from the factory, the DVLA (or whatever they were called back then), the cheque that they required to pay the import duty etc they wanted to impound the car!
Idiots. Took us hours to convince them that the car was genuine - they even at one stage wanted to strip the interior out to make sure that we were not smuggling anything untoward.
It was only the intervention of a certain journalist from Autocar magazine that finally allowed us to get the car out of the customs shed.
After which we then got stopped by plod outside the ferry terminal for driving a left hand drive car in the UK on Italian plates.....
& as for trying to get it re-registered from it's Italian plates to its new UK number.... that took weeks of messing about trying to convince them that the car was real!!!
So all i can say is good luck with customs.

That looks superb now it has been built up.
Now - the real one. Is it home yet & what do you think of it?
I love the 288. Raw, loud, quick, brutal, utterly ridiculous, terrible to drive around town, heavy clutch if my memory serves me correctly, but so much fun on roundabouts, on damp roads, on dry roads, on wet roads..... (not that i advocate driving like a t
t & not that i ever did, particularly in someone else's car).
But you know what i mean. Its like the F40 - it just needs to be driven properly.
I used to love listening to the engine & the turbo's pinging as they cooled down once we finally got round to turning the engine off!!!
We used to leave ours ticking over with the occasional blip of the throttle just so that we could hear the engine.
It is just how a super car should be. Far from perfect but just so so good.
