I am currently building this


And I am missing this..


It is the petrol filler cap. I don't suppose anyone who builds Tamiya bikes has a broken kit or a standard part left over from using a PE part? It is part of the chrome plated sprue tree, and I didn't fancy having to buy the whole tree just for that one little bit.
If not, I will probably just try and fill it with plastic and filler.

I might have one from a Yamaha R1 kit if it will fit and is suitable, I only used the engine from it in a 1:12 Mini. It's the only bike kit I've bought so I'm afraid that's all the help I can give.

I have looked at some pictures and it looks like it could be a good fit. At the very least it would give me the detail and I could sand or fill the edges to fit.

Any pics of the mini, that sounds like a cool model, I saw one of those at a North Weald RunWhatYaBrung years and years ago.

No problem at all, I'll get it in the post for you asap.

I've really only just started the Mini but I do have some mock up pics that I can post later, I'm using these guy's kit as the basis for it, modifying the front subframe to fit the engine.

In my experience, whenever you lose a kit part, within days of either buying one, cannibalising another kit for one or laboriously making one by hand ... you'll find it on the floor!
