OK, bear with me, but I've recently come across the drifting RC scene. A couple of questions, then;

How does a novice begin to learn about what the best starter drifting RC car is to buy. How much should I pay for my first and where should I look to buy one (recommendations). And how do you progress to competing?

I'm really keen to look into this and would appreciate any advice from the pro's.smile

Speak to Matt 'Mitto' Steele here

http://www.maxspeedtechnology.co.uk/

He'll have an ideal beginner setup for you, say John suggested him.

He looks a bit expensive, that HPI Sprint 2 Drift is £189 RTR with 2.4Ghz radio (no interference that you get with FM radios) at Modelsport.

I would propose looking at and speaking to the guys on d1rc

http://www.drccentral.com/forums/index.php?s=c2341...

we host a couple of rounds of their competition each year and they are great guys to socialise with.

Additionally they'll know what to buy, what is available second hand and what is the easiest set up.

Quite cool looking at the water cooled systems they use, just a bit to Jap for me smile

It's addictive I found an old tl01 tamiya in my loft had a mess about, that was it ordering all sorts from japan!
£600 later I've got a full countersteer set up with 2.14 ratio and I've turned my double garage into a drift track.
