Did anyone else get a Parrot AR Drone 2.0 for Xmas (or bought themselves)? I got one and have had great fun playing about with it but it is very susceptible to wind/breezes and is certainly tricky to master. Should keep me entertained for a while!

Keen to hear from others with some hints/tips though on settings etc. Had a look online at the dedicated forum but an awful lot of foreigners!

Is that the thing you control with an iPhone and it sends camera footage back to it?

Yes you control it through an app on iphone/ipad/android and it saves the HD video footage onto your device or a USB device mounted on the Drone.

Got one last year, OEM batteries are crap, get a couple of 1500 MaH off ebay from the Hong Kong outfit, outside use is a no unless its a perfectly still summers day, a good size warehouse makes for ideal indoor flying, absolute control mode is easiest & iPad works better than iPhone.

Hi guys,

I got one last summer, they are excellent little toys. Summer issues initially with the flying programe, but updates sorted that out. They are kinda expensive, but the whole package is quite cool.

My advice buy spares and an extra battery. There are some decent online forums about it and lists all the add on and things to do.

got some great vids made with it.

I got the drone 2 back in May last year... there was a period of lots of dodgy firmware updates, but it's there now I think.

The one recommendation I would make is to balance the props, the difference in the footage is plain to see. There are instructions on the AR drone flyers forum.

Yup - got one here - and decided to venture a little bit higher than I had been flying it this morning.

As it rose above the ridge of the house - its off - into the oak tree at the bottom of the garden. smile

Thankfully the video was recording.
