1/24 Toyota Alphard "Fabulous" VIP Van
Discussion
I started this one back in the middle of last year. It ended up at about 60% complete by September and stayed there since. I felt is wasn't going well, but not sure why. Anyway, these last few weeks I decided to get it finished and the end result is better than I'd imagined as I was going on. Still find white vehicles get grubby easily though.
The interior A post handles are not standard, neither are the P/E Hybrid and Toyota logos on the boot lid. The rest is OOB. The "flocking" in the floor interior is actually just plain flour sieved onto wet paint, then repainted and matt clearcoated. I'd seen such a tutorial on another forum, and it works well when Ford Dove grey flocking is not available. In fact it probably provides better coverage and a more realistic scale carpet surface than real flocking. Until I saw that tutorial, lack of grey flocking was one of the things that made the build go on pause.
