Nice!!
The Falcon was always the one wasn't it, as they built it to scale with the mini-figures, I think it's the biggest set Lego have ever produced with over 5000 pieces.
I thought Tantive IV was UCS? Though I guess not, it can be had on the Bay for less than £250.
That does sound like a very odd way of holding parts on though, using magnets, I guess they should have tried with stronger magnets or, more properly, used Lego. Maybe they were unsure due to the size of the panels that the studs could hold them in place.
Apologies to all, maybe we should have a Star Wars Lego thread!

Yes, it is to mini-figure scale but the Taj Mahal set now pips it in terms of biggest.
There is a Tantive IV UCS but that's not the one I have. When it was originally on sale it was around £100 (maybe a bit over, if memory serves) and I object to paying over the odds for them. I've seen brand new Millenium Falcons on sale for £3,500 (mine's still boxed) and I've seen £2-3,000 being asked for 2nd hand (previously built) Star Destroyers.
I think magnets were used so they could get the angles right to create the dart shape of a Star Destroyer - don't get me wrong, it does look good/impressive. You just need somewhere to put it where it can be left alone and admired from a safe distance.
Bookmarked!
I recently (at age 40) rediscovered my childhood love of Lego. I've stuck to Technic and the Ferrari kits though for fear that SWMBO's tolerant amusement at my childhood regression might be less forgiving of more overtly "geeky" kits like Star Wars!
All I can say is that it's a good job they didn't make these when I was a kid otherwise my parents would have been even more skin than they were....!!
Now, someone please persuade me that I really don't need the new UCS Red Five X-Wing, or the rather splendiferous B-Wing.....

We have mountains of it - mostly in pieces. One of my contemporary dads used to let his son build it, and then dismantle it and re-assemble using superglue.
I thought he was properly weird until I added-up the purchase cost of the stuff we have that's of no play value because it's in bits or key parts have been lost: it's well over a thousand pounds...

Sorry to take this off topic a bit but here's a couple of photos of my ucs starwars. They are massive!

Thanks for the kind offers of places to keep them but I think I'll keep hold of them for now.
I bought both of them from the lego shop in Birmingham (on separate occasions) and even the staff thought I was bonkers spending £250 on a lego set
After seeing these pictures again I might have to put some thought into making some sort of shelf to put at least one of these on. They are far too good to be in the box.

I always knew the Executor was large - but not just how large until you see it in context and to scale with something else!!
Indeed, it's absolutely huge! I was surprised when I finished it just how big it is and how heavy it is too. I'd love to be able to talk with the team that designed it, there's so many clever build processes in it.Editted to add, I'm surprised how big the B-Wing is compared to the MF I have, it looks fantastic. It's on my wish-list, though whether SWMBO takes note or not we shall have to wait and see!

Hello,
Yes bought as it is, it is one of only twelve ever made. It is one of only two that had light and sound and it spent most of its life in Hamleys. It is built on a metal frame and splits in the middle so you can move it around but it is so heavy that that it is a real task, all the parts are glued together and a number of parts are cut as well as having their 'nobly' bits removed so it can fit together .
I tried to buy it at an online auction but it did not make its reserve but thankfully I was able to do a deal afterwards. Very lucky to own it, they are meant to be destroyed when the lego corporation has finished with them but of course they do get out of the back door.

It's too soon to close the thread, but that is cool!
I take it you bought it complete? Would love to know how many pieces and how it was built.

Without Jango there would be no Boba
Jango is the blueprint to the Clone army and so a very important chap. From what I know the Lego Corporation never made a Boba but even if they did it would be close to impossible to get one.
Thanks for your comments.

Thanks very much for sharing blackiepaul, and for showing the inside photo.
[Darth Vader]
Most impressive

Whatever you do, never sell it, it will be worth an absolute fortune in years to come. It's just a shame it's a model of Jango, not Boba.

There's a 1/3rd off certain of the smaller Lego Star Wars kits in Sainsburys until 3 September, instore and online
The only one that grabbed me was the A Wing.
http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/toys_and_nurs...
(There's other Lego reduced too, including a couple of the small Technic kits)

I think we need a video of it doing what ever those electronics do
Hi it does not do much, it lights up the bottom of the rockets which have LED's in them and then it makes the noise of him taking off and flying away which is the identical noise to what was in the film.
