How to use Rotacraft/Dremmel polishing pads?
Discussion
Hi, I've got one of these tools, photo below. Most of the tools are common sense - you fit them in the chuck and you're away. The polishing pads however which you can see in the top left, I've no idea how they fit on it at all. Could it be something to do with the spindle with the screw in the end? (also shown near the pads) as it seems to have no other purpose within the tools selection. Though the screw isn't long enough to be foreced through a pad and into the shaft.
Any suggestions appreciated.

The simple answer is: Don't.
You are right in that the little spindley screwy thing is for the pads but the tool spins far too fast even on its lowest setting and will easily burn through any clearcoat/lacquer. They're also quite rough and are really designed for the finishing polish of bare metals, along with the compound you get with them.
I speak from experience, luckily I had the sense to test it on some spare painted plasticard first
