Instead of the usual Pistonheads 'What car' thread, I'd like to pick the brains of any PH adhesive experts out there instead.
I'm looking for a particular kind of glue, but know little / nothing of glues since I packed up Airfix 25yrs ago.

The specs I'm looking for as follows:

1. To bond stainless steel to stainless steel.
2. Relatively quick drying
3. Will not be under any extreme stress (physical or temperature)
4. Waterproof (but not for underwater use)
5. Will soften/lose adhesive if submerged in hot / boiling water. Doesn't need to be 100 degrees but above everyday temps, say upwards of 70 degrees to give a margin of error.
6, Cheap as possible.

Any thoughts on the above would be much appreciated, thanks

I think point 5 will be your folly. All the other points appear to be very do-able, however.

Thank RF, yes I agree.

Doesn't need to be boiling water as such, just the ability to separate the 2 pieces if needed in future, preferably without a blow torch!

Something like this may be worth investigating;

but I still think inducing failure will be tricky.

Araldite rapid

your #5, based on experience, tried it once as a temporary repair on a motorbike radiator, it will start to peel at operating temperature.

Thanks for the info guys.

I think I'll give the araldite rapid a go, seems this one has a low top end temperature tolerance.

Will let you know how I get on.
