Renault Clio mk2 - boot locking issue

Hi,

I have noticed for a while that the boot on my 04 plate Clio doesn't always lock. However, when I slam the boot 8 out of 10 times it then locks.
Has anyone else experienced this issue on their Clio?

Might be your boot solenoid. Less than a tenner from eBay and one torx bolt to fit.

Or the wiring in the boot hinge.
Or possibly the BCU (is there one on these?)

This is not an uncommon issue. I had 3 Clios, and had a similar problem on one of them. It was the solenoid in the end, a cheap fix.
