Peugeot 405 headlamp

Hi, my dad is having some problems with the drivers side headlamp on his car, it's a Peugeot 405 GTX 1.9 TD. Basically it doesn't work More specifically it will work for a while if you jiggle the bulb/bulb housing thing but then it fails again soon afterwards. Any suggestions on a permanent fix?
