Renault GTA - Windscreen Wipers

Does anyone know how the windscreen wipers work on a Renault GTA?

Do they both go at the same time and meet in the middle, leaving a line of dirt in the middle of your screen or do they alternate, overlapping in the middle?

Yes that's right, colloquially known as 'clap hands' wipers

They are clap hand wipers but the drivers side is slightly ahead of the passenger side so it looks very unusual (they aren't completely symmetrical in their operation). The water does gather in the middle but I don't honestly notice the wipers when i'm driving although I'm told they are very noticeable when looking at the car from another car.

They do just overlap, just not at the same time! Leaves a line just to the passenger side of centre along the roof where the dirty rain runs back.

Driver's side slightly ahead of the other.

They're odd but they work.(to a fashion)
