205 gti braking issue
Discussion
I've only just bought my 205 gti and was driving down the road this afternoon when my brakes seemed to have stopped working for a while.
I hit the brake pedal and it travelled all the way to the floor, let the pedal come back up and it worked fine then. This happened 3 times in 10 minutes while travelling in traffic.
Can anyone shed any light on the problem?
I did 400 miles on Saturday with no issues whatsoever.
Thanks

Got the master cylinder changed today. The brakes still feel a bit spongy and when stopped (engine on) pumping the brake I can hear a "squelching" sound - is it air in the pipes?
The brake pedal doesn't travel as far as before but doesn't bite as early as I thought after replacing the cylinder.
Any advice gents?
Thanks

after bleeding a system from (nearly) empty, as you will have done having changed the M/C, I always rebleed after a few hundred miles to get the last of the air bubbles out. Definitely worth doing this before you start replacing stuff. Provided, of course, that nothing is visibly leaking!
