Citroen C8 towbar with Parking Assist

Does anyone have experience of fitting a TowBar on a Citroen that has rear parking assist ?

I am concerned about the tow ball confusing the parking sensors so think i need to fit a detchable unit, but these aree over double the price.

Any experience or suggestions out there ??
