Has anyone retrofitted a CarPlay/phone mirroring unit into their Bentley. If anyone can recommend one and/or a fitter then that would be great. It would be for a gen 2 Flying Spur (2013-18)

Hi, Andy at Balmoral is retro fitting a Limcet car play unit to my 2006 Phantom. He does Bentleys has well. Although the process has not been entirely smooth, I recommend Andy and Balmoral and suggest you give him a call.

I've got Carplay in my Bentley, but don't know who fitted it. If you get stuck PM me, because I think the installer's details might still be in the Nav.

Hi - just had CarPlay upgrade to my 2012 GT v8, install went well, works well (only limiting thing really is the sluggish factory touchscreen). Install took about three hours, no hassles. Not as smooth in use as a modern oem install. In that volume balances are tricky, etc but overall a million times better than the bentley/vw satnav! Was supplied and installed by Enhance car audio and security, in sittingbourne, Kent

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I am after an installer in Scotland ideally (I was briefly encouraged by mention of Balmoral but it seems to be in Worcester!).

The factory replacement unit for Gen 2 cars is pretty much imminent if you want to go down that route.

For the 2013-2018 generation?
Where did you get this information?

Yes for gen 2 vehicles. I work for a dealer and have seen it, my understanding is they are awaiting final sign off.

Do you have any idea what the ballpark cost will be. I imagine eye watering!

Cost is just under £3k by dealer, but finding one to try is almost impossible

My 2012 Flying Spur had an upgrade already fitted when I bought mine but it's wired which is a pity so I am looking to try and get a wireless system fitted.

I'm not a fan of the official Bentley upgrade as I think it looks like one of the cheap Chinese upgraded screens but a lot more expensive, here's an instagram reel showing the new system.

Edited to add a link to a youtube video which shows it off better

Thanks Dan

I thought there was a wireless option,

and that’s our worry - it looks a bit ‘Chinese’

Irony is everybody now wants buttons back not touchscreen

How well does it work day to day?

Think I posted about this in another thread, but I got one of the hidden Integrated Automotive kits fitted to my 2014 Spur, and I'm happy with it for Android Auto. A lot cheaper than that one above!

Wireless as well

I ended up getting the Bentley one as my original infotainment system died and was not at all clear if an aftermarket one would retain all the important existing Bentley functions that were operated through the screen like tyre pressure, ride height, suspension setting etc. No complaints about it.
