Hi
I'm thinking of buying a gen 2 Continental and was wondering if anyone had installed a carplay system in theirs?
Thanks

I've got a 2014 Spur (same system I think) and I paid a local audio chap to fit one of the Integrated Automotive kits.

All fine and works well, Android Auto starts automatically. The only thing I can think of it's a bit of a faff to stream to it - you have to connect your phone manually to the kit via Bluetooth each time you start the car, instead of letting your phone connect to the car itself IIRC.

I normally only listen to the radio so I don't do it that often, but it will stream.

One other thing I've remembered - pressing the Menu button on the steering wheel turns it on/off, (back to the normal car screen) so if you flick through your dash menu you briefly lose Android Auto. A small price to pay for what is effectively a bodge to get Android Auto to work on an older car

Bentley have released a new infotainment unit for gen2s. Looks nice but obviously more expensive than aftermarket.

thanks chaps
weirdly when i went to view the car yesterday they casually mentioned it had carplay fitted - it seemed to work ok. it was one where the phone was plugged into it (had a cable down the back) pretty sure i'm buying this car (hopefully tomorrow) ive seen ads on various social media feeds where you can plug a device into that cable and use it wireless to the phone (would save me having to move the gear lever to get my phone in behind!!)

I have found that using bluetooth in a car seriously runs the phone down if on a long drive.
I actually don't mind the plug in as it obviously charges it at the same time.

When I bought my 2012 Flying Spur I was looking to get an Apple carplay system installed when I found a cable tucked away into the glove box with a label on it saying plug phone in, lo and behold it already had a system fitted. It's not bluetooth but I like that it charges the phone when it's plugged in. I mainly use it for google maps and a bit of Apple Music so it does me.

This is the system I was going to install before my discovery but I like the look of the original dash and wasn't sure about fitting something that copied a Bentaga dash plus he couldn't match my wood colour so I would have to have a piano black one.
