Having recently purchased a gen 2 facelifted GT Speed - i took it on a road trip to Ireland. As you would expect the level of comfort was first class (the last time i did the same road trip was in a Mclaren 720 - minus the 2 sets of golf clubs!) on the way back via liverpool i filled up and drove back to Surrey, when i arrived back there was still 1/2 a tank left!

Do they have cylinder deactivation?

Mine is a gen 3 V8 and apparently it shuts off half the cylinders.

In comfort mode on the motorway, fuel economy is remarkable.

Depends on the year AFAIK. 2015 onwards yes.

That’s mad range for a W12. GT Speed easily does five hundred miles plus on a motorway run. McLaren would’ve needed two fuel stops.

upon doing some more research it seems my car does the cylinder deactivation feature which would explain the better than expected fuel economy. yes same trip in my Mclaren would be double the fuel
