What's the worlds most dangerous and extreme sport?

Extreme sports have really taken off in recent years, fueled by advances in technology and more leisure time to do them in, but what do you think is the most extreme and dangerous extreme sports?

Extreme - the Barclay marathons.... Something like 19 finishers in 30 years
Dangerous- cave diving and BASE jumping

Sure there are loads more

When buying travel insurance recently there was the option to add 'Activity Packs', which covered a variety of activities.

The most extreme pack, Activity Pack 8, included cover for alligator wrestling...

Maybe not quite on the same scale but jump jockey is pretty dodgy, plenty of broken bones.

Statistically, going for the water speed record is probably the most dangerous sport, with an 85% fatality rate.

Powerboat racing in general is very dangerous.

Unlikely as it seems, rock fishing (here in Aus) is right up there in the fatality stakes.
I've never been washed off, but had a few minor scares.

How about extreme breath holding..or free diving as it's more commonly called.

Base Jumping is reportedly 1 in 60. I think that'd be tough to beat...even with cave diving being an option...I'd imagine properly trained cave divers have a much lower chance of death than a base jumper.

High Altitude Mountaineering has probably the highest statistical fatality rate. Anything above 8000 metres.

Especially as it can affect absolutely anyone, so all participants are at risk (unless you are a sherpa I suppose)

Would be interesting to see a proper stats list.

Flipping the coin, there are some extreme sports where it amazes me that people don't kill themselves more frequently. The Red Bull Rampage is a good example of this.

A report in 2015 said at least 68 deaths in the last 5 years.
